The Annual Catholic Appeal

(formerly known as the Annual Bishop's Appeal)

Hope can be a difficult concept to define. However, like love, hope is something that we can recognize when we see it. So it is with the hope sustained through the ministries that are made possible through the Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA). For 33 years, starting in 1978, the Annual Catholic Appeal has been woven into the fabric of the Catholic Community of the Diocese of Norwich. The ACA makes hope real and visible for many thousands of people across the four counties of our diocese. By sharing our resources, we are able to accomplish together what no single individual or parish could do alone.

The hope offered by the ministries supported by the ACA takes many forms–from the education and formation of our clergy to programs that support those with physical and mental disabilities. Those struggling with poverty are given a hand up. Children, youth and young adults are formed in faith. Our varied ethnic and cultural populations continue to grow as our ministries seek to assist these brothers and sisters in Christ who are a vital part of the spiritual life of our diocese. These are just a few examples of the ministries and programs funded by the ACA.
